UHSAA Adjustments Due to COVID-19

Due to the unique circumstances of the caronavirus pandemic, the UHSAA has made the following adjustments to normal operating procedures for the summer and fall of 2020. It is anticipated that fall sports will start on time.

Academic Eligibility for Fall Sports:

  • Initial academic eligibility standards for fall sports (4th Q grades) will be waived
  • Student-athletes must be enrolled at EAST as a full-time student, or meet UHSAA requirements for participating at EAST if attending a charter or other non-traditional school
    • Must be enrolled in at least 4 academic (credit bearing) classes – home release or released time do not count
  • Normal UHSAA eligibility standards will apply once 1st Q grades are posted
  • Although eligibility has been waived for grades posted for 4th Q, students should do everything they can to earn good grades and credits toward graduation

Summer Moratorium:

  • The summer moratorium originally scheduled for JUNE 28-JULY 4 has been waived
  • If families have planned vacations or other activities around these dates, it is recommended that you communicate those plans with coaches as early as possible
  • Other important UHSAA dates and updates can be found on their website and calendar (uhsaa.org)
